That 260M stat is the recycled and never-updated Shueisha placeholder number that Dragon Ball passed DECADES AGO. It's literally the same 2002 figure being reused because Shueisha wants to downplay older IPs to hype up new ones. Not only are you misreading the date, you accidentally proved my point (thanks fag) that Shueisha has deliberately stopped updating DB's real numbers in public-facing materials to make room for newer IPs. You even conceded that Dragon Ball sold 350M by 2008, so don't backtrack.

The Japanese article clearly shows that as of 2004, Dragon Ball was ALREADY at 300 million global copies sold (and Dragon Ball outsold Harry Potter in Denmark at the height of Pottermania). Japan alone had hit 160 million which matches the Nikkei report. Your clinging to "260M as of 2022" tells me you either deliberately ignore credible 2004-2013 sources OR you're unaware that the stat is old, frozen, and selectively cited. Either way, it's cope all the same.
