One of my many complaints about vanilla ER was the OST and the quality of bosses, even the ones that were supposed to be the "best" were pretty below average in combat desing, like Malenia or the final boss.
Nightreign has some of the best bosses, and the soundtrack is way more memorable and better structured.

Personally, I liked Nightreing's lore more. It's quite different from the original ER, and in that sense, it reminds me of DS2.
The main villain is now the nobody instead of the protagonist, and he's more of a living oxymoron.
