I've watched other people play Wilds, including my roommate, and the amount of challenge looks to be basically nil if you use all the tools the game itself dumps on you. Maybe Behemoth 2.0 is hard, but a single super-monster that doesn't even belong in the MH universe being the only notable challenge doesn't make a game difficult overall. And I'm not just talking about Wilds, I'm referring to World and Rise as well, both of which I have played significantly.
World was flat-out boring most of the time because monsters were slow compared to hunters, did almost no damage when healing was practically free, and maps were far too huge, needlessly complex at times, and riddled with ways to make monsters even more of a cakewalk. Iceborne wasn't even more challenging, it just made every monster a damage sponge unless you abused the clutch claw, and I never cared to use it much at all. I got so utterly bored with Iceborne that I just quit and never went back after Velkhana, and I've never had a single urge to ever revisit it even though people have told me that things have totally changed for the better.
