They are nurglings.
I used to regard them about the same as you would regard a fungus you found in your basement.
But the more I encounter them, the more I think they're nurglings - their whole purpose seems to be to spread corruption, rot, entropy, disease...
Picrel is one of their monkey gods. The other half is a nurgling - I think a plague bearer.
I cannot tell the difference.
