The difference between Russian and Ukrainian has parallels between those who spoke/learnt Classic Nahuatl and those who speak the Post-Toltec Dialect of Pipil. The Classic Nahuatl speakers considered Pipil to be bastardised Nahuatl based on the phonological simplification as a result of Mayan influence, however it also has archaisms.
