Borderlands 4 could probably sell ten million copies before the end of the year, very probably right behind the other big AAAs like Call of Duty Black Ops 7, Pokemon, Mario Kart and AC Shadows. And GTA6 if it had come out.
And all that in spite of everything about the Borderlands series including 4's fucked launch.
There's a big ass appetite for shooter RPGs but almost the entire genre outside of Borderlands is live service garbage. You figure with how insane Borderlands's numbers are, any other publisher would've gotten on that, literally just Borderlands gameplay but without Borderlands writing would do numbers but the closest you got was

>Remnant from the Ashes 1/2 which sold decently
