You misunderstand, the shinawatras brokered a deal with the junta in an I'll fated deal of 2023 to suppress the liberal opposition to the nationalists and royal factions. This would never be allowed to stand but it would take the piss out of the opposition until they could strike again. The shinawatras married into the junta family of Cambodia and mutually leverage their positions to gain wealth and power and try to suppress the military faction. They were able to throw the shinawatras out and now they need to push back on the Cambodian support to snap the liberals out. This may seem trivial but it is the real cause here.
