Somewhat in the same boat but I'm trying to power through it by doing the squinting technique and blocking in the values which I'm still terrible at. I want to eventually start using charcoal and brushes. Having a goal would probably help, mine is to achieve a fraction of Sargent's skill for now. Long way to go.
