I think Yoshida is basically the only remaining character who's still a complete mystery box. Considering we appear to be in the final arc, fumiko just contacted denji, and asa is apparently fighting devil hunters, it does feel like the right time.

I thought it worked, her appearance under the bed as denji's about to fap set the tone pretty well. Her powers were appropriately foreshadowed, as was her strong thematic connection to sekkusu. I don't think we needed a whole flashback to explain what was adequately conveyed in two sentences.
