Happy Little Trees, more specifically i went with Fabled forests in Vanilla size. They are very performance friendly

The issue is not the mods themselves but by how people use them. They try to turn Skyrim into something it isn't instead of trying to keep as much of the vanilla feel as possible while improving upon it.
