Did another A-Z game. Since there's a new EAW thread, I'll post it. This time it was Kingdom of Aquileia.
Went monarchists since I never tried that before. It was a pretty straight-forward continental conquest with lots of puppets. The Empire was a good enough challenge, I guess, but it was a pretty easy run. Quite chill.
Pros:
>Focus tree leads to lots of conquests and some cores and unique puppets which makes them have a meaning and don't feel that mindless.
>Some cool story bits to make the nation interesting.
>A very cool Military Development Interface thing which acts as a sort of second doctrine tree.
Cons:
>Not much of a challenge if your remotely experienced with the game.
>Monarchist route feels kind of limited in variety compared to the democratic one.
>First war with the Peripheré is kind of annoying because it wont let you put a front-line on all nations at once.
Overall a fun nation and a quintessential major in the continent. It's very strong, so its not that hard, but I guess that could be good for new players or maybe MP. It has some fun wars and cool conquest stuff. A bit simple, but nice and pleasant. I honestly don't have much problems with it. Sometimes its nice to have a nation like this in-between all the more complex ones with mini games and secret paths within secret paths.
Next up will be Kingdom of Brodfeld.
