It's really sad reading excuses like this when Canto 8 had so many flashbacks and downtime showing absolutely pointless fluff about Hong Lu's childhood. If it ran anything like Canto 1 you would've been rushed through the Kong massacre and that was that. We know nothing about Gregor's past, his familial relationships, the purpose of his arm, life at G corp, nothing. All we know is cut apple, happy birthday.
