>Intelligent people are cringing at the old mans comments because anyone worldly enough has encountered many sufficiently genius beings of all colors
That's not entirely why they were cringing though. The main reason they were cringing and why Watson sounded like a fool is because he tried to talk about economic development which isn't strictly IQ based.
You have countries going into Trillions upon Trillions in debt (US and Japan). Countries whose low birthrates are causing population collapse and wide spread school closings (South Korea, Greece). Countries whose political and economic influence is deteorating (Britain and France). Countries hollowing out their workforce via rapid rising cost of living or war (Canada and Russia). All high IQ relative to the rest of the world but kneecapping themselves with domestic and international policies.
Meanwhile every projection for 2050 and 2075 is pointing to countries associated with lower IQ (India, Indonesia, Nigeria, Mexico, Brazil) becoming economic leaders. Due to younger workforce, growing populations, focusing on policies that incorporates development for their societies not strictly their corporations. With only China being the major outlier IQ wise but not population wise.
