Played the full game w/ the Shadow of the Serpent Riders expansion many times through a couple years ago and came to the same conclusion. Levels are really memorable and fun to explore and find secrets in. I remember the boss fights being above average too, with one having all these different phases. Crossbow + Tome of Power, my beloved.
