people will buy it anyway, but it'll be less than with scarlet/violet now that the whole "MUH FIRST OPEN WORLD POGEYMAHN" normie hype is gone. If time stranger defies the odds and gets some normalfag interest it may slightly impact sales with a whole 'pokemon vs digimon' thing since they're releasing at the same time, but it won't be anything significant. No matter how bad the games get, the death of pokemon will be agonizingly slow because of the brand loyalty it's built up. It'll be shit on, critisized, laughed at, and it'll still sell.
