It's incredibly good. The lyrics and the way they're sung can be incorporated into the action scene and what it means for the character. There's this minor scene of Chris fighting noise in S2 with interspersed monologue and lyrics, and it ends on this part of the song concluding both monologue and the action scene. Tons of great examples, possibly better than this.

The series is just too full of great, subtle stuff. It can be very bad in some seasons and parts (I fucking hate GX and XV despite rating XV a 7 or so) but it never misses on that front. Every song is full of puns, callbacks, references, the characters have lots of interesting growth.
