I'd like to draw attention to the nature of the crystals and their power. They seem to be sentient in a way since they take the form of flowers and seem to be guiding Kirby on his quest to save the Starries. They build a pathway for him and help him get to where he needs to go. They may even be able to become whatever Kirby needs them to be by reading his mind.

Ares is the God of War. Genwel and Elfilis are conquerors of planets. They may be acting alone or on the behalf of something. For all we know they were created to collect animal specimens and genetic material. They seem to exclusively attack fauna.
