I'm making a FOSS social media and there's something I don't understand. I might as well be autistic or something, because I just don't understand this:

>Zuckerberg and his ilk have ruined the entire world and subjugated humanity with their doomsday devices
>children's attention spans and IQ's are dropping, people are mentally ill, dropping like flies just because every website has to be a Skinner box
>for about 10 years you watch as nobody does a goddamn thing about this
>you make threads about this everywhere, even write a book where you explain why the modern Internet is so problematic
<people tell you to fuck off, nobody publishes the book. instead bookshelves are full of books where women write about their funny Tinder experiences and shit like that.
>finally you spend 3 years programming a non-profit open source social media platform
>you and a psychology student design it so that it doesn't have any web elements that manipulate your brain, such as infinite scroll
>you tell people online about your site
<for some reason people get absolutely furious every time, like you did something forbidden
<anons say you're the one with the God complex, not Zuckerberg and Musk
<all your threads get shut down with screaming, personal attacks, demoralization etc.
<you apply for grants for the site but no fund or institution is interested
<summa summarum: people agree in unison that your idea is shit, you're shit, and they keep using Tiktaks and 4chins

Where did I go wrong, anon? I spent 3 years of my life and all my savings into giving people what I thought they wanted, but they didn't want it. I still have the source code tho.. should I simply turn it into a monetized, gamified privacy breaching hellhole? I bet people would be rooting for it then
