The earlier entry, IL-2 1946, still holds up and has plenty of content stretching to the pacfic and mediterranean theaters thanks to all the expansions over the years that got bundled together. Extensive modding scene by boomers too with lots of good modpacks. If you're primarily a singleplayer guy, you'd probably enjoy 1946 a lot more than Stalingrad, since the AI isn't as dumb. Stalingrad also can't model drop tanks or planes with more than 2 engines lol

For the price to content ratio 1946 felt like a much better investment
