yeah, I guess comparisons should be done in moderation, especially when you're living in an environment that's as alien to you as it is to the people around you. It is incredibly ironic that parents like mine did their best to prevent their children from having the same experiences they had, but instead of creating a new success story, they invent a new failure

I guess the only clear solution can come from disconnecting from their reality and carving your own path. If it ends in failure? Shit sucks, try again in another life. If it works out? Great, take those newly learned lessons to the future
