It's understandable that they'd cost a bit if they were only made in limited runs, which that would have been the case all the way even until now, where guys know we are in a grey area where a court has technically ruled that one particular brand's patent and those who have purchased that particular product have been protected under the law. Anybody who's ramping up production now really is gambling on the idea that DOJ will not try a similar takedown on them and risk it going to trial. That being said even assuming the cost of labor and materials is up crazy high right now, $500+ is absolutely insane highway robbery prices. I would imagine with even a cartridge type device like the Rare Breed might cost something like $90-100 a unit, so a $300 price tag would still be reasonable profit while putting some dosh away for attorney fees for any potential future litigation should the feds try some fuckery. Rare Breed honestly can go eat a bag of dicks.
