Can’t fault Trump for trying to dial up the optics of the Oval Office. It’s the official meeting place of important guests to the White House, the seat of power in America. Some gilt decorative appliqués on the walls, quality apholstry fabric on the chairs, paintings of past leaders, etc., etc., it’s an honest effort to embellish a somewhat small, limited amount of space. For sheer elegance and grandeur in an official meeting place, however, Putin’s Moscow ‘office,’ the Kremlin Palace, is next level. The Russian version of opulence, splendour, and power must leave a compelling impression.. which is what these leaders are wanting to do.
