Use persp rulers in doors. They're typically more boxy, so eyeballing can be difficult.

For this pool pic, Im guessing she's come to the pool and it rained so it was closed? Wasn't sure, started overpainting thinking it was summer time then realised. I like the concept, and your drawing style is nice.

Any how, you've got value issues before you start worrying about big bad rendering. The right thigh has no where near a dark enough shadow, and your highlights are cutting up any chance of value grouping that might make the image more readable. You don't need to do it my way, but definitely look at what other artists do for water effects.

I've tried to clean it up a bit to show value more than anything, though more can be done to make her stand out off the BG - with calue and shape I mean.
