Lots. I tend to open google maps and just look around for companies in an area I don't mind commuting to, and then look deeper into small/medium companies that are in industries that I find interesting or promising. A lot of small/medium companies are involved locally too, so you can look for press releases from local organization or government small business inititives and learn more about what their goals are, and it also gives you a good talking point in the interview to show that you are interested and see how they are looking to bring a positive impact to the local and larger regional areas.

Jump ship every 2-3 years and get a bigger pay and at times a promotion. Happens all the time here in the DMV area.
