i worked on a project with a hecked manufacturer. I cannot name the manufacturer but they may be the type that uses white PVA glue, from Elmer's School variety, instead of proper fasteners to fasten parts.
we had an internal meeting to wrap up stuff with out the client on the call and we were laughing about how ridiculous the project has been. one guy was pissed and I never seen the guy so pissed before but he was holding it in.
turns out. i find later. the 'add service' got denied.
see:
there was scope creep. I saw it a million mile away. I put up the Dido red flag. early and off then.
'look, we are not contracted to do this'
>just do it
but
>ok we are going to write up an addserve after the fact, but we need to do it first
...
do I tell them?
I didn't
but?
>yeah let's just do it and we'll write up an add service.
welp! denied! but we did the work.
I had experience with this before where someone tried to pull the same thing
>well. we will ask for more money after
nope
never works.
was it it wishful thinking or was this a lesson learned for a new generation of people?
i am not sure I am describing this lesson right, though
