I'd say any of these would qualify for me-

>A pandemic with greater than 5% mortality rate
>A globally relevant city is entirely or mostly destroyed
>A major world power launches a full-scale attack against another world power (USA, China, EU, Russia)
>A major government admits contact with ayylmaos, with evidence
