It's easy to try to sound authoritative about these things, while in reality it's pretty difficult to actually assess what the zeitgeist is or what the lifespan of franchises will be. Bringing this back to OP, I remember people making very legit sounding guesses that Fumikane drawing porn of the characters marked the end of the franchise, because the IP holders wouldn't let him do something like that if there still was commercial interest in Witches, but as he just randomly started doing that with GuP characters too, all that analysis suddenly just became wet air. I'm not claiming that there's some new Witch peak in front of us, but it's good to remember that posts like this prove false at least as many times as they correctly forecast anything.
