There's no evidence Hitler had anything to do with it. Though many in the Reich were Theosophists and/or members of the Thule society, the occult side of the SS was pretty much just Himmler's pet project and probably in early beta stages of development at most.
I visited Wewelsburg and it's pretty underwhelming. Just a small little two floor tower with runes and symbols decorating it and a green/black sun the modern staff covers with beanbags (though interestingly nother else is covered). I only took a few off before they told me to stop, but it tells you something about it scares (((them))) worse than the Hakenkreuz (actual name of Swastika). Gnostics connect the symbol to Sophia or the feminine principal of the divine which would more or less be a symbol of antagonism to the reign of Yahweh/Yaldabaoth.
