Basically it's a bad compromise between rural and city life with none of the benefits. Not close enough to the city to have quick access to services/shops. Not far away enough to have peace and quiet in the countryside, just look at the picture they are literally living wall-to-wall. In addition, suburbs like these have very inefficient land use which leads to sprawl. Sprawl takes space away from the countryside. People who work in the city should live there and not spread out in the countryside.
