Hmm i don't know, i think we all progressively discarded Excel Saga because it's comedy was TOO absurd, extremely out there at times. I would comparte it more with gag shows like pic related (which was also really fun when it aired)
I know it sounds kinda hypocrite considering Cromartie has a gorilla, Mechazawa and fucking Freddy Mercury, yet its humor feels different in my opinion. It's still bizarre sketches one after the other yet somewhat more grounded and relatable (maybe it's just me)
