My ex and I broke up after 6 months of dating due to some huge incompatibilities between us: most notably, I think saying faggot is funny while she's gigawoke and hates that shit (it's surprising we lasted this long). We split amicably and she agreed to keep contact, but we haven't texted in a good 3 months. I sent her a message expressing my gratitude for everything about a week post-breakup (she was my first girlfriend), but she never replied. Her birthday is coming is coming up, should I send her a celebration method? On one hand I still care about her and have no shame in expressing that, but I also don't want to potentially ruin her day or anything. I know we agreed to stay in touch, but I feel like her not replying to my message implies she wants me out of the picture entirely. I'm not crashing out over this, I'm just unsure what's the right move.
