Its a better chip than the 7800x3d obviousfuckingly its just considered not enough for the price hike
Its a similar issue to the 5070TI and the 5080
The 5080 is a better card no two ways about it but its probably not worth the extra money if you compare them in a "performance per dollar" chart.
If you have the money and want that extra performance go for the 9800x3d just be aware its not that much better than the 7800x3d
