What a beautiful non answer.
>Obsession with following the law to the t is what created the Pharisees
You dont have to be obsessed with the law to follow the law or try to follow the law. this is actually an impressive statement because it is simultaneously a red herring and a false dilemma. Its a red herring because that completely ignores the point in which I am making that you heard from the camels mouth, jesus himself, that you are to obey the law if you want to be saved, and yet you handwaive his direct instructions
>Being Christian isn't about being the most rigid
no one said it did, again red herring
>It's about love
Wrong again and at this point im not sure you have even read the bible, christianitys belief lies in the foundation that jesus came to earth and walked around as a doomsday salesman explaining that the end of the world was IMMINENT. not soon, not in 2000 years, imminent. and he offered people 2 options, salvation through him, or destruction and eternal torment in fire. Jesus did not come to the earth to be your invisible best friend. Matthew 10:34-36 Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. And a person’s enemies will be those of his own household.
He did not come to spread a message of peace or love through his own words, he did not come to make friends.
>Your heart will be hardened without God
No, I wont. this is just cult thinking of demonizing the people in the out group, careful, we might have lizard tongues too!
>The idea that Christianity is about "following the law" is not correct
Thats a fantastic 10/10 insight you dont have to justify it to me youre gonna have to explain that one to JC himself who does not agree with you.
