If your MAC's clock is correct, it's already pretty late into the afternoon. You don't really have much of your shift left before you have to call it quits.
You got some decent progress done at least. You got access to the computer now, your lab is super clean and you studied the two anomalies you have. (The cigarette mold is probably anomaly adjacent at least).

You yank the GRIMMY FLOPPY DISC out of your spacious pocket. This is probably going to take a moment to load so might as well load it up first.
You shove it into the floppy disc tray.

The computer immediately freezes the moment it realized what you shoved into it.
A sickening noise emanates from the computer's speaker. Fleshy, wet noises like raw hamburger meat being pushed through a ricer ooze out. Oh, this disc is fucking haunted, isn't it?

You step away from the computer just in case this thing explodes. You really hope it doesn't - You wasted so much time booting this thing up.
Then, as if nothing happened, the computer stops making that god-awful noise.

A new program pops up on the homescreen. "CPPQUEST.EXE". You hesitantly click on what seems like the world's most obvious virus.
The computer loads it up with little to no effort. A garbled 1bit pixel title screen pops up. A low, distorted beep that might've been the game's title music crackles out from your speaker.

"CONTANI PROTTECT PROTECT QUEST."
"PRESS A TO START. 100000 HOURS OF FUN FUN"

Whatever happened to this disc, it seems like it's been severely corrupted. You press A to see what pops up.
It immediately loads into a heavily corrupted and pixelated mess that, if you squint, resembles a random storage room somewhere in a facility just like yours.
"U ARE SOMEWHERE ADKR. WHAT DO?"

There's a portrait of your character but it, like everything else, is corrupted and garbled. The only identifying characteristics of whatever you're controlling is that it has clawed hands.
You quickly turn off the game. You've read enough early internet horror stories to know that thing is probably haunted to hell and back. There's no way it isn't.

...But, you are assigned to study the supernatural and abnormal. Maybe there's some value in playing that game?

Curiosity kills the cat but but satisfaction brought it back. You have to know what's out there. You can always deal with your computer later, it's not like that obviously ominous program is going anywhere.

You hesitate right as you're about to open the door. You're not sure if you should bother whatever is out there but, fuck it, satisfaction brought the cat back.
You swing the door open.
