You know very well (I think) that individual integrity and drive are effectively drowned in systems of oppression. Speaking up = fines and jail. Saying something against the top-down narrative = loss of career or loss of business. Organizing against the power structure's agenda = confiscation of assets, smear campaigns against one's reputation, social isolation, jail time.
But the harder they make it to voice dissent, the more radical the response eventually. Very foolish what they do right now.
