You can assign actions to A, B, X, Y, ZR. and open the quick action menu with R.
It's usual for a lot of interuptions of enemy attacks.
But for stacking effects (summon flame emittered, place, summon fan, place; creates a flame tornado) using the longer bar I personally feel is just simplier.
But you can set whatever you want on the quick act bar really.
