When you get the chance to walk free, you walk over to the common room for the lower-level agents. It is as cold, sterile, and far removed from anything natural as you remember, but after a lot of time in a hospital ward and down in the stormdrain eating and drinking and breathing gods only know what, you begin to appreciate the tasteful middleground. Ugh, schiesse, you've actually begun to find this place comforting.
But the atmosphere reigns it back in to its unfamiliar, unwelcoming norm.
The crowd is thinner than usual. It occurs to you that the traitors you fought on the Zephyr hunt were both L1s not very long ago. Members of this community that are now gone, and those that called them friends might have been questioned for everything they knew and had suspicion cast on them as well. That, and the halls were less populated overall. This place has really quieted down.
But the commons are not totally deserted - there's some rookies still kicking. The ginger haired girl, Alowiccishishia Dolores Berdnandy Amberny or whatever you're calling her Tex, was there, laying on the couch in plain dejection. A television is right in front of her, but it's not on. Tex is just taking in the silence with nobody to talk to. Kai is over there, thoroughly invested in drawing some strange abstract piece. And... that's about it for faces you recognize.
There's always your direct circle of coworkers you could get back to, Lalli, Sigrun, Saemus. Maybe you could head back to the Noita Office and ask around about Auringonvalo. See if anyone else can hear it sing. Oh, and Miss Sumika deserves an apology for your blunder. In hindsight it's hard to tell exactly what went wrong that gave you away, but the mistakes were significant enough to derail more than one mission that day.
Oh, and you don't actually know what you're intended to be doing. They just released you, without any particular orders. Whoever you talk to, you want to get the rundown on what's been going on.
You have been living under a rock the past few days. Talk to some people and get your bearings. Up to three will be done.
>Tex lost a lot of her peers, and could use some new connections. Actually, now that you think of it, wasn't she actually loading bullets when you first saw her? She pays for a munition allowance!
>Kai must have been up to some interesting stuff, perhaps? A connection to Leshy might have a better understanding of the birds.
>Walk back to your cubicle with your regular crowd. Maybe they won't hound you for eating so much Pervitin you still feel it five days later.
>Take Auringonvalo up to the Noita office, and discuss Anima with Blythe. Surely he's interested in such a piece?
>Sumika has your back and it's important you have a smooth relationship with her. Go apologize for bungling things.
