Cringekino. The direction photography is immaculate. Some of the dialogues are too corny, but one of its strengths was the protagonist's voice overs where he speaks in his own words about his inner and outer world with a mix of melancholy and acrid humor, like in the noir genre. The actors made an explendid deadpan performance, except for some moments when there are fits of over-theatricality. Some touches of surrealism, which apparently are the norm in Subiela's filmography. There is a lot of miserabilism, melancholy and frustration but it teeters to hope for a better future... The ending scene will likely gladen the appreciators of Tarkovsky's work, since it is an unequivocal tribute to it. A very recommendable film.

P.S. In the theatre scene, the film being screened is Tiempo de revancha (staged by Aristarain), I think the pwned box office clerk was literally played by Adolfo Aristarain himself kek, very meta.
