Made a cutting board for a friend. This hickory end grain was a real bitch. I did a test run with a 2x4 douglas fir or whatever, and I knew the hardwood was going to be harder but not this much harder god damn. I spent at least 4 hours sanding out tool marks. I think I need higher quality sandpaper, either by abrasive or by whatever glue was holding the aluminum oxide. My electric planer chattered and made the surface worse, and the hand planer did the same. Fucking A
