This anon already mentioned it but his is what it looks like after 200 stages and indeed after the 5th level the difficulty goes up by 1 every single stage but you do get +2 per now.

I thought someone said the role stages were locked by the day like dailies but maybe I can't tell because it's the last day of the week.
