You stepped into a proper, luxurious inn's room. One big comfortable bed, plenty of space, a closed door with windows leading into a balcony that gave a fair view of the main square. A desk had been awkwardly plopped into the middle of the room, and a few additional libraries bestowed with scrolls and books hinted at an administrative effort.

''You're the lady elf from yesterday.'' Branka's strong voice greeted you. The bull-woman sat on the edge of the bed, her strong presence cast a tingle of awed sensation in your belly that only familiarity would eventually dispel. She looked a little more haggard, dirtier than yesterday.

''Them two, huh?'' Her orange gaze narrowed in displeasure upon seeing your companions.

''We saw what happened.'' The gentler, calmer voice of Hanabi came from the balcony as she walked inside. Her large, bushy dark tail excitedly swished behind her. ''You're doing well?''

''Indeed, I came to deliver good news.''

They make an odd duo... but I suppose I look equally strange with Shigeko and Seyraphal.

You pull out the contract from your inner pocket, nothing more than a few sentences signed by you, Thibault, and Maria. ''Take a look.''

While Branka remains on the bed sulking, Hanabi gently plucks the paper out of your hands to read it.

''Seriously?'' Says the fox excitedly.

''Yup, yup.'' I've earned this feeling of smugness!

Loud resonating steps carried Branka's approaching presence; she easily peered over the (much) smaller fox head to read your treasure.

''The Tusks will also completely vacate the bathhouse. Could you organize a caravan so we can carry out the worst of the piled-up garbage?'' You look outside from the balcony window. It wasn't late, but going back and forth through the city likely means only one trip for today. ''Augustine and my parents are out buying provisions and medicines too; things will start improving starting today.''

Branka and Shigeko stare at you with this stunned silence of disbelief that makes your chest puff up in pride.

''I thought Augustine was the only one with some influence who gave a shit.'' Comments the large, tall redheaded bullwoman.

''Indeed, I'm so pleased to be proven wrong. Preparing a handful of our largest caravans shouldn't take too long; we've got plenty of garbage that needs to go!'' Hanabi tail swats to and fro incessantly as she returns your paper; her ears even do a cute twitch. ''We lack oxen, so we'll need strong, healthy girls to push stuff. Could I accompany you?''

''Of course, I'm not quite sure where we'll dump the stuff, but we'll make do on the way.'' You keep your eyes on Branka. She's looking very tense, stuck in an expression of controlled anger.
Gods above, please don't make yourself believe you're losing face.

''Branka.'' The fluffy wise-woman warns. ''I know you've got... troubles with them two, but Rey here is doing mighty fine work with building a good impression here. Cool off that temper.''
