Tell me how you've never been on Xitter.
The main thing that makes shit like Texas SB20 dangerous isn't just the fact that they criminalize drawings and fictional characters, it's that they use terminology like "appears to be", "appears to depict", and other variations of such that put the focus not on whether or not the material depicts a person or character below 18, but TRAITS that are associated with youth and neoteny. This is how you get bullshit like "child-coded" and "height/eye shape/head size of consent". These traits will then be stigmatized and attraction to them deemed socially unacceptable. Since almost all attractive anime girls have one or more of these traits, it is easy to see why people view SB20 as an attack on the anime and manga subculture. And when we have senile Japanophobic boomers and Xittertards mindbroken by #MeToo and cancel culture in charge of this, there is little reason to believe they won't take it all the way.
