Metroid is about exploring a hostile environment in isolation. I don't see why deserts are so out of place with that concept. Also Metroid prime being a first person shooter was very out there for metroid as a franchise when the first one came out but it worked.

I didnt get that at all. I think the very sparse hub in the desert areas is a nice contrast to how 1st person gameplay has such a cluttered screen. I honestly like it.

Im more concerned about how they will make the first person gameplay feel fresh.
