No, it very much isn't. Have you ever seen the valve body of a traditional automatic? Do you know how the planetary gearsets are engaged and disengaged in a traditional automatic? Protip: they have multiple clutch packs very similar to the two in a DCT.
A planetary gearset on its own is more complex than the gear pair of a DCT.
