I didn't even like Yoshida but that was a kino ending on his part:

>He was so captured by the finality of the moment that he was standing in the rain getting soaked.
>He didn't have to buy pizza and drinks.
>He didn't have to sit there watching Denji eat and reminiscing.
>He didn't have to say goodbye.
>He didn't have to be the only friend to Denji in Part 2 right before blowing himself up.

Yoshida didn't have to do any of that, but we see a definite sincerity in his action here. He is no longer that soulless ass-pull character. All his actions before are now cast in a new light. He always knew his life was expendable and that he would likely have to die sometime soon. Imagine living while knowing that. Maybe that's why he never got anymore intimate or involved with other characters. Still. He probably lived his life trying not to form any serious attachments while also having what fun he could with them. He accepted his final task as a man and the tender part of him really had to say goodbye.

I used to hate on Yoshida-posters but they have all been redeemed with this chapter.
