This is an outrage. While we’re bombarded with demands to end internet anonymity, even threatened with mandatory ID logins, a man was tortured for six months in plain sight. Six months! His tormentors, lavishly paid by a voyeuristic audience hungry for depraved thrills, profited shamelessly from his suffering. I only learned of Jean Pormanove through his death, and the worst part? I’m not even surprised. Our society is rotten, consumed by a perverse obsession with cruelty, where the vulnerable are sacrificed for 50,000 euros in profit. Always the same victims, always the same predators. They had no shred of empathy for this man, perhaps broken from the start—or who wouldn’t be after such torment? No action from the authorities, no serious reports, just a bloodthirsty crowd reveling in the spectacle. This tragedy lays bare our collective decay, decadence, and degeneracy.
