It's always so baffling to me when retards say "YOU'D NEVER BE HAPPY WITH ANY ENDING" when literally all Bioware had to do was combine Dragon Age Origins and Mass Effect 2's final mission structures into a single cohesive gameplay route
DA Origins final mission had you summoning in your reinforcements you collected throughout the campaign and ME2's had you picking and choosing squad members for tasks along with checking if you bought certain upgrades for your ship
Literally just do that but with your squadmates, previous game choices and war assets and you'd have had a good final level/setpiece that pays off shit you've done up to that point but instead they did some horrible boring 1 hour gun fight in rubble with all your squadmates just ringing up beforehand and then the space kid shows up after dealing with illusiveman
The 3rd games writing throughout was so fucking terrible that it wouldn't have been perfect but it would have fit with the series mechanics and themes that were in the first 2 games.

Dragon Age: Origins
I'm playing Dragon Age: Origins again after years, and honestly—contrary to the popular opinion on /v/—it's not just that there's no good game in the series besides Origins. The truth is, even DAO is garbage.
>The camera and controls are terrible, clearly designed with a gamepad in mind.
>Classes and abilities are cooldown-based.
>Either you set tactics and the game plays itself, or you have to pause every second because otherwise your characters just stand there doing nothing—and everyone has 10 active skills, all of which basically do the same thing.
>Mages are so overpowered it's not even funny. Filling a party slot with anything but a mage is just gimping your team for no reason.
>The dialogue, writing, and quests are embarrassingly shallow. Example of a quest: “Oh no, my elven girlfriend doesn’t love me because I can't hunt.” You go talk to her:
“Persuade”: You should support your man.
“Oh, how could I not see that before? Now I love him.”
Quest Completed!
>The obvious start of the cancer that is DLC: ultra-powerful gear you have to manually disable in the menu to not be hilariously overpowered—because you bought the Ultimate Edition years later that includes everything.
In summary, the entire game embodies everything awful about the PS3/X360 era:
Games designed for consoles/gamepads, the beginning of monetization cancer, and a weird split between trying to be an old-school D&D-style RPG while also desperately not wanting to be one—so as not to scare off the dudebros.
