Your independence died with Pan Pilsudski, the only Polish politician who did not sell his country out to foreign 'benefactors'. The next government trusted Western guarantees (presumably, for a hefty bribe since an average, picked at random citizen would realize it was incredibly stupid), post 1945 you were a vassal of Russia again and post 1991 you're a vassal of United States.
And that'd your decisions space. Remain a vassal of the United States to be expended in a war that does not benefit Poland at all, or go back to being a vassal of Russia with a marginally smaller chance of being caught in a useless war.
