Look man we had a dysfunctional system for decades that we managed to keep going while we turned a blind eye to them coming here. And it worked okay, we had a bunch of Mexicans and central Americans that came here illegally; but most of them were working and we were able to support them. Then Biden fucked the system with his open borders refugee nonsense. He let in millions of random people who weren't coming here to work like the Mexicans did they were coming here for free handouts and when he did that he broke the system. Now Trump is enforcing the immigration laws that have been on the books for decades and that we've just been ignoring. A lot of Mexicans are getting the worst of it and its too bad because they really weren't the problem; but there's no way around the fact that they're here illegally. We need to fix the system, make it easier for them to come here to work, maybe even make it easier for them to get legal citizenship; but end birthright citizenship and deport the people that are fucking things up. Just turning a blind eye to the problem isn't gonna cut it any more.

>teenagers will do those jobs!

They used to back in the 20th century. We also used to pay enough to make it worthwhile. Now we pay slave labor wages that are only possible because the illegals aren't paying taxes and are living off of government programs. The system subsidizes cheap labor for the ruling class at the cost of the US taxpayer and the national debt.

Cut taxes on agriculture, cut sales taxes on food, cut taxes on working class laborers, ban foreigners from getting any government benefits, then revise the green card system to let legal migrants come in to work who aren't living off of government benefits. From there let the system set the wages where they need to be to attract the labor they need. Get government subsidies and government taxes out of the system and see if Americans will do these jobs.

If we still have a labor shortage then we can revise the immigration system to let in more workers. But shouldn't we at least try to fix the system instead of just resigning ourself to a corrupt system that screws the American worker?
