That's what they did though. They had no faith and took the safest route when they set up what would have been remembered as one of the greatest seasons if they just executed it a little differently.

I don't even hate the characters, but the way they were flanderized to the point that all nuanced was boiled out was killing the only unique thing Hacha had. Making every character about some specific character trait you can describe in one word (Megumi = Happy, Hime = Genki, Iona = Angry, Yuuko = Rice) was the same as just ending the only good thing anyone had liked about the show.
